Ubuntu Cultural Pavilion Goes Global!

We’re proud to share that Ubuntu Cultural Pavilion (UCP) has extended its reach across the diaspora with a special donation to the Kiwimbi Library in Amagoro, Kenya.

The donation includes the Paul Robeson Centennial Celebration Timeline (1998)—an eight-panel exhibit published by Columbia College Chicago and the Paul Robeson 100th Birthday Committee—alongside interpretive signage and a portrait of Paul Robeson by artist Aaron Fisher.

These panels have become a staple of UCP’s pop-up exhibits, tracing Robeson’s extraordinary life through photographs, world events, and scholarship by the late Dr. Sterling Stuckey and Barbara Armentrout. The set will soon join Kiwimbi’s collection, continuing Robeson’s message of solidarity, justice, and education.

From New Jersey to Kenya, Robeson’s voice continues to inspire generations.

Made in honor of Dr. Olubayi, this gift symbolizes our shared belief of Ubuntu - 'I am because we are.'
