Ubuntu Cultural Pavilion "Roots & Wings" Walking Tour

Join us for a 1.5-mile walking tour on the north side of Somerville, designed for families, friends, and groups. This leisurely-paced tour lasts approximately 45 minutes, is not strenuous, and is suitable for almost everyone. All children must be accompanied by at least one Adult.

Explore Somerville’s rich history of the pre-Civil War African American community through the early 1900s. The tour begins at the Somerville Middle School -51 W. Cliff Street at the main entrance. Please arrive by 10:50 to check in. The tour is priced at $8.50 per person for ages 13 and up, and $5.00 for children ages 5 to 12. Your tour fee includes complimentary water and a snack. The walking tour capacity is set at twenty people.  A waitlist will be created should a second tour be offered.
